T here's this guy who is an Elvis Impersonator. But really he wants to be Captain Kirk.He spent $100,000+ and built the Bridge, Sick Bay, the Transporter Room and the Jefferies Tube -- His "studio" is in upstate New York, near Lake George. He gets everyone to give their time and energy. He plays Kirk. His per episode budget is $15,000. Paramount lets him do it as long as he makes no money. On the following episode he has had 30 million downloads. (What if he got a buck a download from each trekkie?) You're into the black in a hurry. Jon Povill and I wrote an episode of ST— The Child — years ago. This guy asked Jon to direct the original instead of the way Paramount butchered it. Jon can't wait to go. Might be fun. So who says there is no money in the internet? If you developed a series this would be one way to market it. This is one reason writers would like to get a few bucks for internet content. It's why we strike.
Here's the trailer for the episode Jon and I wrote.
